Brooklyn Tank Top (SCKL)

When the book SCKL (Sewing Clothes Kids Love) came out, I was tempted to get it but didn’t coz it was rather exxy and I wasn’t sure if I was willing to spend all that moolah. Then more and more of my friends got it and the more I thought about it, it really worth getting coz you get I think (from memory) 10 patterns including instructions and tips about sewing. So, I caved in and got one. I’ve had it for awhile but never made anything from it. With it being hot in Kulim, I decided to whip the easiest pattern up – I think it looks somewhat the same to Farbenmix’s Lore though….

KR’s white top with iron on applique from eBay & Arianna’s red tie-straps with a hot air balloon iron on design from Godma.

She loves her hot air balloon. :)

This pattern obviously has 2 options where the straps are concerned and I tried them both – bias binding gingham straps and jersey ties. While they both look nice to me, I think the sewn on straps are easier but I’d stick with knit fabric. The woven just looks weird to me – but that’s just me. I might give Lore a go though – if time permits.
