YAY! This one is another hit with Arianna. *does the jig* Now, while this pattern is actually called Puolukkapuuro Cord Pants, I didn’t want to get your tongue in a twist hence, Arianna came up with this instead and I think it’s rather appropriate and you’ll see why.
I was meant to finish up a tunic before I set out on these cord pants but somehow, I got stumped with the tunic pattern which I swear is easy to sew up but somehow, no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t figure out how to attach the collar on!! >:S Needless to say that I was most annoyed with it and have since chucked it in the corner of my UFOs.
These cord pants are the second last in the set of items that I’m making for Arianna and after this, I’ll be taking a break while I decide on what to sew for KR and JR…if not, perhaps some summer clothes instead.

Aka as Puulukkapuuro Cord Pants, sewn in size 104 with Cheeky Monkey ribbons and a 1.5cm waistband instead of a 2.5cm one. I didn’t put any pockets in the front, just substituted it with some matching ribbons instead. (I was too lazy to add the other 2 pockets!)

Thank you to the CM ladies who taught me what ease-stitching is….
Sadly, the pockets are not perfect.

See this? Now you know why Arianna calls it her Cheeky Monkey Pants – and to ensure that I knew she liked this a lot as well, she told Daddy that she got a new ‘pretty dress’! *slaps forehead*
While I normally (try to) follow the Otto instructions as close as I can, I feel that sometimes, you can’t really go through with it hence, I skipped some parts and added my own modification just to make life more easy for me.
And I’m glad I did especially the waistband….
TFL!
Ps. Would this be alright for a little boy??
They look great! I have that pattern traced but like so many other sewing projects, haven’t gotten to them yet.
For a boy…eh, probably not. But then since I have one boy and 3 girls, I try my best to not sew anything for him that could be considered the least bit girly.
lol, thanks cin… just tracing it out will not get u to sew them up. u have to trick urself into actually CUTTING up the fabric so that u know u will HAVE to sew them up.
seeing that i hv a boy up next, i’ve been trying to go as neutral gender as possible but it’s not always that easy.
i think its abit girly, the wider hip and pocket placement is quite girly. you’ve been Farben!! LOL the ribbon is farbenmix right? i think i saw something like that.
otto 1/2008 frog pants is great for boys! i love that one esp your kids is chunky-licious, will fit better than my scrawny kids. my fave pants pattern for Ben is 5/2006 #19. its very slim fitting, great for him!
