Polka dot blouse (1/2008)

Needless to say that the 1/2009 Otto issue is one of my favourites! I’ve sewn a fair number of patterns in here and I’m still loving it! :D This blouse pattern that I picked was mainly because I got sick of sewing knit and wanted to break the monotony of knit fabric and this pattern seem easy to sew up and it was!! I finished it in ONE afternoon – a brand new record for me! :) Did you notice that I tend to stick to no collars tops? After that floral dress episode, I’m so scared of collared tops although I love how they look like. I’m still recovering from the intimidation! lol

Sewn in size 104, I got this fabric on ebay and it’s cotton with a slight stretch to it. I’m not sure what it’s called but it is a tad bit stiff. I dont know why I got it in the first place but apparently it’s come to good use! lol Do note that the title does NOT reflect the actual garment! lol :P

Turned out great and I love it!! 2 main reasons why really : #1. The contrast binding I picked I honestly did with my eyes shut and I really hoped that it would match and they did!! More so, it’s from my scrap bin. :P #2. And the most important of ALL is the fact that Arianna is SO loving it!!! :) The moment she saw the fabric, she went, ‘So pretty flowers!! Arianna’s dress.’ And when I had finished sewing and had her try it on, she was all smiles and going, ‘So pretty dress, so pretty dress!’. *lol* I was overjoyed, I was sooooo over the moon and felt so appreciated! :) Nothing beats having your child literally tell you how much they like what you sew…. :D Daddy didn’t even have time to put his suitcase down when he walked in the door before she was in his face, going ‘So pretty dress, so pretty dress!. :D I’m so glad I picked this fabric for her! :D Ted was quite glad with this top as well as he noticed how happy she was. We were so busy fussing over it that he almost forgot to tell me about what he has found out about those cheap auto insurance quotes that Dave keeps telling him about!! Not that I would know anything about it. :P

Anyhoo….TFL! :)
